Thermocouple Sensor

A Bayonet Thermocouple is a type of thermocouple which uses a Bayonet type mounting for process connection.

It can be said Bayonet mount or a Bayonet Fastener is a fastening mechanism which consists of a cylindrical male side with pins mounted radially, and a female receptor with L-shaped slot(s) which matches the pins and with spring(s) which forces the parts to stick together.

Type J thermocouple is a very common and general purpose thermocouple. It has smaller temperature range and a shorter lifespan at higher temperatures. It consist of positive leg made of an Iron wire and negative leg made of an Constantan ( Copper-Nickel ) alloy wire.

Application:

•  For measuring high temperatures in large ovens and channels for
• flue gases and air

Type S Thermocouple (Platinum Rhodium - 10% / Platinum): The Type S is used in very high temperature applications. It is commonly found in the BioTech and Pharmaceutical industries. It is sometimes used in lower temperature applications because of its high accuracy and stability. The type S is often used with a ceramic protection tube.

Type S Temperature Range:

Maximum continuous operating temperature: up to 2,912F (1600C)

Short term use: up to 3,092F (1,700C)

Type S Thermocouple Grade WireThermocouple grade wire, -58 to 2700F (-50 to 1480C)

Extension wire, 32 to 392F (0 to 200C)
